I spent hours wandering through its labyrinthine alleys, discovering hidden gems at every turn. Yet, just a short walk away, the grand boulevards and colonial architecture of the French Quarter transport you to a different era. Hanoi's chaotic traffic is a sight to behold, but I quickly learned to navigate the city on foot and by cycle, a pedal-powered rickshaw.

The Serenity of Halong Bay

A visit to Vietnam wouldn't be complete without experiencing the tranquil beauty of Halong Bay. I joined a boat tour to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it was a highlight of my trip. The limestone karsts jutting out of emerald waters created a surreal and peaceful landscape. Kayaking through hidden caves and grottoes allowed me to fully immerse myself in the bay's natural beauty. Spending a night on the boat, under a canopy of stars, was a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
